It Produces 19.20 million Tonnes of Marble Per year, and approximately 40,000 laborers work in 900 mines in the several ranges of the Aravallis. Therefore, the average annual revenue is 10036 crore in Indian rupees. And this makes Makrana the richest municipality in the state.

It is a high-quality White marble useful for building construction and decoration. These marbles are highly durable and widely used for flooring and countertops. About 120 thousand tonnes of Marble are produced annually from over 400 mines in this Region, and the state government reserves 55 million tonnes.
Hence, The key points of chemical properties are:-
1. Type or Marble: Calcitic
2. Chemical composition: It consist 98% to 99.9% Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) and 2% to 0.1% impurities.
3. Colour shades: Pure white, white with grey shades, and white with pink shades (depends upon the type and level of Impurities)
4. Water Resistance: The presence of 98% calcium carbonate makes it India’s highest water-resistive rock
5. Shine: It retains its shine and white color for a very long period
6. Cutting and polishing: It doesn’t require chemicals or any other form of treatment but is used in cutting and chiseling.
Types of Makrana Marbles:
There are different types of categories depending on the level of impurities, color and pattern.
1. Makrana White Marble: This is the most common type of calcitic stone of white color used for sculpture and in building construction for flooring and wall cladding.
2. Dungri Marble: It has a slightly Grey pattern on white. It doesn’t require any chemical treatment. For Floors, dungri Marble is a good choice.
3. Kumari Marble: This Marble has a white color with grey or brown line patterns. : It is the most economical type of Makrana marble.
4. Albeta Marble: It is commonly observed in white color with black lines on it.
5. Brown Albeta Marble: The Albeta marble with a brown color pattern on its top.
6. Makrana Pure White Marble: It is also known as “Sangemarmar.” It doesn’t have any pattern of different color shades. It is the purest form of Makrana Marbles.
